nominalization
A verb or adjective turned into a noun.
A nominalization is a noun built from a verb or an adjective: decide to decision, wide to width. Use the noun when you need the thing named. Prefer the verb when the noun only adds bulk: They decided, not They made a decision, if the bulk is all you gain.
