inculcate / indoctrinate

To instill versus to drill a doctrine.

To inculcate is to instill by repetition: inculcate a habit. To indoctrinate is to teach a doctrine, often with a closed mind in view. Inculcate takes in or with: inculcate care in the staff, inculcate the staff with care. Do not use indoctrinate as a fancy teach.
