coordinate adjectives: commas between equal modifiers

The comma between two adjectives of equal rank.

Put a comma between coordinate adjectives: a long, dull meeting. The adjectives are coordinate if you can insert and or reverse them: a dull, long meeting. Do not use the comma before an adjective that forms a unit with the noun: an old oak table, not an old, oak table.
