collective nouns agreement
Singular or plural verb after committee, team, family, jury, and like nouns.
A collective noun takes a singular verb: The committee has voted. The jury has reached a verdict. If you mean the persons in the group, name them: The jurors have taken their seats. The committee members have gone home. Do not use the committee have or the jury have. That is the British form.
